Whether you have kids or not, in Woodbury Minnesota school districts can effect the price of the home or townhome you buy. My kids have gone to schools in both Cottage Grove Minnesota and Woodbury Minnesota. What You Need to Know About Woodbury MN School District.
The most important fact that you need to know is that not all homes in Woodbury MN, go to Woodbury schools. You can see in this district map that some go to Stillwater. Stillwater has a great school district and is equal to that of Woodbury Schools. The difference is driving distance or distance your child may spend on the bus.
Same goes for Cottage Grove and Newport Homes. Some of the homes are in the East Ridge Woodbury High school boundary. This is a very important note since you may not be able to afford a single family home in Woodbury and may not like a townhome. You could buy a single family home in Cottage Grove or Newport have your kids attend East Ridge. Of course as housing expands these boundaries may change.

Woodbury East Ridge VS Woodbury High School
I am bias in my opinion about this. Reason being is my son and daughter both go to East Ridge. My daughter is about to graduate and was on the Soccer team all 4 years with two years on varisty and places 2nd in state her junior year. She also took AP classes and was on the National Honer List.
My son has been on the football team for the past 2 years and has enjoyed playing and looks forward to be on varsity the next two years. He enjoys going to school at East Ridge.
That being said, from my experience, Woodbury, Cottage Grove and Stillwater High schools on up are vary good and safe schools. A police officer is assigned to the school and is on campus. I would suggest as you look at homes in the Woodbury, Cottage Grove and Stillwater area, you go tour the schools and get a feeling for what your kids would like.
